COVID-19 BEST PRACTICES
The health and safety of the Little Acorn community is our top priority.
We will always go above and beyond to make sure your child and your family are safe, secure, and cared for.
COVID-19 has changed the preparation of our Montessori environment. It’s important to remember as we navigate through this time together that restrictions, protocols, and advice are constantly changing, and Little Acorn will always be mindful of guidance from the State of Connecticut’s Office of Early Childhood (OEC), the Federal Government, and the CDC.
What we are doing:
Class sizes are limited for your safety.
Everything that a student might touch, play, or interact with is sanitized and disinfected daily.
We are mindful of social distance within the classroom.
Personal hygiene practices (including hand washing, nose blowing, and personal accountability, etc.) are taught in our school.
We are spending more than half of our day outside in nature.
We have a preparedness plan in case one of our community members is diagnosed with COVID-19, and will treat this situation with care and compassion.
What you are doing:
You understand the importance of your child experiencing a nurturing social and emotional environment, and trust Little Acorn to provide a communicative, safe, and educational classroom experience.
You are reinforcing good personal hygiene at home, and self-screening your family for COVID-19 symptoms each morning before school.
You are being cautious in public and social situations to make sure everyone is safe.
You understand how quickly our world has changed, and are patient and kind as we navigate this together.
You are communicating with Little Acorn regularly, and know that we are here for your concerns, questions, and feedback.
What we are doing together:
As a Little Acorn community, we are working together — we are understanding, communicating, and adapting in ways we could have never imagined. We are stronger than ever, we are here for you, and we will always continue to be.
